What is deposit@home?
deposit@home is a service that allows eligible members to deposit checks online up to an accumulative total of $3,000.00 using Internet Home Banking. Your funds will be available by the end of the next business day; all that is required is that you deliver the checks to Affinity within ten (10) calendar days of the date of your online deposit.
How much does deposit@home cost?
There is no cost to use deposit@home; however, online deposits not received by Affinity Federal Credit Union within ten (10) calendar days may be reversed on your account. This may result in a negative balance on your Share Draft account, which may cause fees to be assessed.
I do not have a checking account - can I still use deposit@home?
No. Online deposits can only be posted to your Affinity Checking (Share Draft) account.
How secure is deposit@home?
Affinity uses the latest technology to keep your account information secure. Security features exist at every level - from your PC, to the Internet, and over our secure network. The following features are offered for full security:
- Password protection
- Enhanced Login Security
- Lock-out: access is denied after the third consecutive invalid login
- Automatic Timeout: your Internet Home Banking session ends automatically after a designated period of time
- Cache security: ensures that no one can view a member's account information by accessing the cache file
- Encrypted URL: ensures that any account information that appears in the URL is not readable
- SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol: allows for the transfer of digitally signed certificates for authentication procedures, and provides message integrity, ensuring that the data can't be altered during a transaction. In SSL protocol, Web addresses usually start with "https" instead of "http"
What is the deposit@home limit?
Affinity Federal Credit Union will credit your account for deposit(s) of one or more checks, up to the maximum accumulative total of $3,000.00.
What is a session number?
A session number is a number automatically assigned for each online deposit session. In exchange for the availability of funds using deposit@home, you must agree to record the assigned online deposit session number on your mailing envelope.
Where do I mail my online deposit?
Online deposits should be mailed to:

You must record the automatically assigned session number on the outside of the mailing envelope.
Can I order pre-addressed envelopes?
Yes. You may order envelopes by clicking the 'Order Envelopes' button inside of deposit@home.
How long do I have to mail Affinity Federal Credit Union my online deposit?
The items that make up the total deposit in each online deposit session must be received by Affinity Federal Credit Union within a ten (10) calendar day period. This period begins the day after the date of each online deposit session. If the online deposit items are not received by Affinity Federal Credit Union within the ten (10) calendar day period, the deposit total may be reversed on your account.
Can I bring a deposit@home online deposit to a branch?
Yes. However, please be sure to advise the branch employee that you have already made your deposit online using the deposit@home service.
If I submit my checks on the 10th day by bringing them to an Affinity branch, will they still be on time?
Yes. Any deposit made within the ten (10) calendar day timeframe, whether by US regular mail or at a branch, will be credited to your online deposit account.
Will an ATM accept a deposit@home online deposit?
No. You may only deposit deposit@home online deposit items through US regular mail or at an Affinity Federal Credit Union branch.
When are online deposits credited to my account?
Affinity Federal Credit Union will credit your account for deposit(s) of one or more checks, up to the maximum accumulative total of $3,000.00, by the end of the business day following the date of your online deposit session (by the end of the next business day.)
What happens if my mailed checks get lost?
Affinity Federal Credit Union will not be liable for negative balances on accounts caused by the non-payment of checks due to insufficient funds, delays in the mail, checks not received or for any action by the Member or authorized user of the account that results in the reversal of an online deposit on the account.
I have a business account and a personal account. Will I be able to make online deposits to both?
Yes. As long as the account you are depositing to is an Affinity Checking (Share Draft, 02) account, you can make online deposits to it.
Which versions and browsers are supported for use with deposit@home?
You will need a minimum web browser version of Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher, Netscape 4.7 or AOL 6.0 to use deposit@home. This is based on Windows 98, NT, 2000, XP and Mac.
Can I access deposit@home from another computer?
Yes. deposit@home can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. All that is required is for you to log in to Internet Home Banking as usual.
How do I safely log out?
The safest way to log out is to click the 'Exit deposit@home' button when you have completed your online deposit session. Then click 'Exit' out of Internet Home Banking; and finally close your browser.
How do I view my available deposit@home balance or limit?
Your available online deposit balance or limit will appear on the entry page of the deposit@home product each time you enter deposit@home. It will also appear inside your deposit@home session in the left side navigation.
What are the differences in available online deposit balance and current online deposit balance?
Your available online deposit balance is the amount Affinity Federal Credit Union will credit your account up to the maximum accumulative total of $3,000.00. Your current online deposit balance reflects any online deposits made that Affinity Federal Credit Union has not yet received.
Can I download deposit@home information into other financial software on my computer?
No. It is not currently possible to download deposit@home information into other financial software on your computer.
