Affinity's Enhanced Login Security upgrades your Internet Home banking experience by providing a new level of protection for your personal information. Enhanced Login Security is free, easy to use, and most importantly, gives you the peace of mind that comes from knowing that you are that much more protected from fraud and identity theft.
What is Enhanced Login Security?
Enhanced Login Security adds an additional level of security by identifying you as the true "owner" of your accounts through the use of "cookies" placed on your computer/browser that identifies it as your computer/browser. (Please note that technically it is your browser that is identified, not your PC). This feature strengthens the security measures we already employ.
When is Affinity launching Enhanced Login Security?
Enhanced Login Security was launched on November 17th, 2006, and is required for all Internet Home Banking users as of January 2nd, 2007.
What happens if I don't enroll?
If you do not enroll in Enhanced Login Security, you will not be able to access your accounts using Internet Home Banking.
Why is Affinity adding Enhanced Login Security?
On October 12, 2005, the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC), the regulators overseeing banks and credit unions, communicated that passwords alone will no longer be acceptable as the sole means of achieving online security. All financial institutions needed to comply with the terms of the FFIEC guidance by the end of 2006.
In addition to complying with this regulatory requirement, Enhanced Login Security is serving the best interests of our members. This additional security measure will help further minimize the ability of a fraudster to access online accounts.
What exactly happens when Enhanced Login Security is added to my account? What will I need to do?
When you log in to Internet Home Banking, you will be prompted to do two things: establish challenge questions for identification verification and register the computer/browser you use to log in to Internet Home Banking. The registration will consist of placing cookies onto your browser. It is a very short and simple process that takes only about a minute and you will be guided every step of the way.
What are the challenge questions for?
Once you have enrolled in Enhanced Login Security, the questions serve as a back-up security measure - they are used when you log in from a computer/browser you have not registered (meaning you have not placed the security cookie on it). For example, if you log in from a computer at a public library, you would be asked to provide the answers to your challenge questions because that computer is not the computer you registered.
I delete or clear my browser cookies regularly. Will I need to keep answering the challenge questions?
No. As of January 15th, 2007, Enhanced Login Security also works by placing what is known as a Flash Object on your computer. The Flash Object is harmless, and is used by the system as an alternate method of identifying your computer/browser as being enrolled in Enhanced Login Security. Please note: You must have Adobe Flash version 7.0 or higher installed in order to take advantage of the Flash Object bypass.
To replace a deleted/cleared cookie and add the Flash Object to your browser/computer, simply follow the instructions below for adding Enhanced Login Security to a computer/browser.
Now that I am enrolled, how do I add Enhanced Login Security to a computer/browser?
It's simple. Log in to Internet Home Banking from whichever computer/browser you want to register, and answer the challenge questions. Once logged in, click "User Options" and choose "Enhanced Login Security." Then select the "add extra security protection to this computer" option and click submit. You can add extra security to as many computers/browsers as you want.
How do I access my Internet Home Banking account from a non-registered computer?
When you log in (with your member ID and password), you will be prompted to answer your challenge questions. If you choose to, you can then add Enhanced Login Security to this computer/browser by going to "User Options" and then "Enhanced Login Security." Then select the "add extra security protection to this computer" option and click submit.
Will my financial software still be able to automatically access my Affinity Internet Home Banking account information?
For the moment, no. Because most financial software packages are not yet able to answer challenge questions for you, they will not be able to log in to your accounts and capture information. However, some software developers such as Quicken are working on solutions that may be available in the future.
In the meantime, you can still import your account data by utilizing the Account Export feature inside of Home Banking. With this feature, you can choose the account and date range you would like to export and then select the appropriate export format.
Can I change my challenge questions/answers?
Yes, the challenge questions and answers can be updated within Internet Home Banking by choosing "User Options" and then choosing "Challenge Question Setup."

Please call our Member Service Center at 800-325-0808 (Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM) or visit any of our branch locations to have your challenge questions reset. This will also reset your Password.
What if I get an error message when I answer my challenge questions?
You should try to enter your information again. If you are unable to remember your answers, call our Member Service Center at 800-325-0808 (Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) or visit any of our branch locations to have your challenge questions reset (this will also reset your password).
When I set up my challenge questions, what do I do if I don't have an answer to one of them?
Keep in mind that answers to the challenge questions can be anything you choose and can remember - the answers don't have to be factual. For example, if a challenge question asks what your first car was, and you have never owned a car, the answer can be any word that you can remember; it doesn't have to be a car.
What if I am using multiple browsers on the same PC?
If you are using multiple browsers (i.e., Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox) you will need to register both browsers to access Internet Home Banking without having to answer your challenge questions. To add extra security to an additional browser, you should log in to Internet Home Banking from that browser, answer the challenge questions, click "User Options" and choose "Enhanced Login Security." Then select the "add extra security protection to this computer" option and click submit.
